Mission Trips

Jesus commissioned the Church “Make disciples of all nations”.   One way that we seek to fulfill that mission is to send teams from our church on short term mission trips.

EL SALVADOR

In January, 2011 we sent a team of 8 people to San Salvador, El Salvador. There, our team joined a team of 28 other people in order to support long-term missionary Steve Kern in his ministry to the people of El Salvador. This was an evangelistic mission trip and God blessed the effort. Over the course of the week approximately 800 people made professions of Faith, and 1 new church was planted!

In January, 2012 we sent a team of 6 people to San Salvador.  God led somewhere between 500 and 700 people to make decisions for Christ during the week.  The team was also able to visit the church that was planted on the previous year’s trip.

Copper Spings Church is also beginning the process of embracing an un-engaged and un-reached people group.  Unreached means that there is less than 2% evangelicals in their population.  Un-engaged means that to the best of our knowledge, there are no missionaries anywhere even trying to reach this group.  Please pray for us as we seek to reach to Mixteco Tijatepec people of Southern Mexico with the Gospel.

In October of 2011, Pastor Brian and a team of others traveled to the town of San Paublo Tijatepec in Oaxaca Mexico. During this trip the team went through a time of training provided by IMB missionaries and also made contact with the Tijaltepec tribe.  The tribe was very receptive and invited the team to come back.  They also shared the news that some of their kinsman worked as migrant farmers in Taft, California.

In January of 2012, a team from Copper Springs went to Taft to help with the initial evangelistic outreach to the Tijaltepec that live in there.  The event was very successful.
